The next four years are very important years in your life. It is our hope that you will explore this webpage as well as the rest of our website to familiarize yourself with our school and all we have to offer you.

What is a GPA & Why is it Important?

Your GPA, or grade point average, is a calculated average of the letter grades you earn in school following a 0 (F) to 4.0 (A) scale. Every semester, your GPA will be updated based on the grades you earned in all of your classes during that semester. GPA is one of the most heavily weighted factors, along with ACT test scores, that colleges consider when determining whether or not you are a good fit for their school. The more populated and/or prestigious the school, the higher the GPA is required to be. It's important to be present at school each day, unless an absence is unavoidable, in order to maintain a high GPA.

A fifth-period RTI class will be assigned to you based on your individual test data. It is always important to give your best effort on tests as they are regularly used for course placement. Once you are in high school, your assigned counselor will help you choose courses for 10th-12th grades based upon your career goals as well as other data.
